DNA and other evidence have proven the innocence of thousands of incarcerated Americans in recent years. Approximately 24% of those wrongful convictions occurred due to unreliable and mistaken forensic evidence. The Directors of the Illinois Innocence Project will discuss how certain areas of forensic evidence have been exposed as non-scientific and otherwise flawed, and how such evidence can put an innocent person behind bars.

There will be six general meetings of the Livingston County Democrats for the year 2018.
The meetings will be held at the Pontiac City Hall Council Meeting Room
(115 W. Howard Street) at 7:00 pm, on the second Tuesday of all even numbered months.
“Informative Presentations” featuring guest speakers will also be held as conditions dictate;
along with community events such as parades, fairs, etc.
